SHORT LANE STABLES

Over The Last is run by Linda Blackford and her partner Mike Vanstone. Linda who rode 103 winners including seven under National Hunt Rules, often quoted as being one of the toughest and stylish lady riders in the Southwest. On retiring from race riding Linda commenced training Point to Pointers, to date having already trained over fifty winners between the flags and in Hunter Chases. Linda now holds a National Hunt trainers licence and her partner will be taking over the pointers.

Together they have self designed and built a fourteen box courtyard style exclusive   premise with large airy boxes   incorporating back top doors for the horses idyllic views into open countryside, all boxes are rubber matted with automatic water troughs and with   CCTV surveillance, making it very safe and comfortable accommodation for all horses.

Their exceptional facilities include a five furlong fibre sand all weather gallop built on a steady incline, three schooling fences, two hurdles, also a unique twenty jump cross country course around their farm to produce young horses in the art of jumping.

Quiet country lanes with excellent hills make good road work for hardening of legs and for building of muscle.

Being situated close to Rackenford in the heart of some of the best hunting country Short Lane Stables is one of the elite yards in the Southwest, run by two experienced dedicated and ambitious people.
